Teaching models

COVID-19 in the university

This model came out of a modeling course we ran early in the Pandemic. It can be run directly from netlogo web at the link below. Key teaching goals with this model were to consider when a problem is a truly spatial problem (i.e., viral loads shared in space) and when it is a network problem (i.e., social connection among people with some likelihood of transmission)

Agricultural technology adoption model

This model was included in a short course on ABM conducted at IFPRI Delhi in 2014. It includes a step-by-step walkthrough in a Word .doc file for the construction and unit testing of a simple model in which risk-averse farmers consider adopting a novel land use practice by testing at patch level and learning from their neighbors.

Simple migration model

We built this simple model to illustrate some of the concepts applied in our MIDAS model. The folder includes video capture of setting up the input data, using shapefiles in Netlogo, building a social network, and coding the mobility decision.
