Workshops and Training

We regularly host short courses on developing agent-based models and experimental games.

On this page we have curated materials from these that may be of use.

Should you have interest in participating in, or hosting, a games or ABM workshop, please get in touch.

Games workshops

We regularly host 2-3 day workshops on the design of games as experimental tools, with some time spent on the technical skills development of building and implementing games.

Sample workshop agenda, from one of our workshops hosted at Stellenbosch University in June 2024

If you would be interested to join or host a workshop, let us know!  In the meantime, you might find our games builder guide and Netlogo games template useful to get started.

Agent-based modeling training

We have a number of agent-based modeling examples built for workshops and courses, with varying degrees of documentation, testing and support.

These might be helpful to those thinking about problems that align closely with the models shared, but also for those new to modeling and struggling to get past the blank page and knowing where to start.
